5 Ways to Welcome Spring in Columbus

Hi, Columbus friends…and helllllo, Spring! Our team at Arch City Tavern is super excited to embrace these warmer days and open our windows, allowing the fresh breeze to flow into our restaurant. What’s better than sipping a half-off draft during our happy hour while enjoying the weather? (Hint….nothing!)

While winter is packing it’s bags for the season, we understand the eagerness to find outdoor activities to soak up the sunshine. Luckily, the wonderful city of Columbus offers fun ideas for you to take advantage. Here are our top 5 ways to welcome spring!

Rent Bikes Downtown

Columbus offers endless grooves and sideroads, making it hard to reach them all by foot! What better way to explore the hidden beauty of the city than renting a bike? Cogo Bike Share allows you to rent a bike for the day leaving you to feel the breeze while admiring downtown. Not to mention, it’s a great way to get active and have fun! Crooze along The Scioto River during sunset and admire downtown glowing during golden hour…get your camera ready!

Stroll The Short North

Taking a walk in The Short North during the warm days is one of our favorite activities! We love seeing the sidewalks and store fronts come to life as everyone enjoys warm weather and great neighbors. The endless boutiques and local stores located in The Short North will have you in awe of the uniqueness Columbus has to offer.

Visit the Farmers Market

Although many farmers market’s go year-round, it’s finally time they are moved back outside! There’s something peaceful about browsing a farmers market on a quiet, sunny day. Clintonville offers an outside farmers market every Saturday, 9AM-12 with a wide variety of local goods! Grab your friends and hit up your local farmers market! It’s fun to taste-test local honey and popcorn….who knows, maybe you’ll leave with scrumptious goodies!

Explore Metro Parks

Columbus is full of beautiful MetroParks from Pickerington Ponds, Clear Creek, and Blacklick Woods, the list is endless! Take time to destress and explore spectacular trails and paths. Make it fun for kids by bringing a scavenger hunt! Search for specific tree species, bugs, or flowers!

Dine-In at The Arch City Tavern

We know all these activities work-up an appetite! Especially after biking along the river or exploring new trails. We offer a wide variety of local drafts to pair with your Stone Baked Pizza or Bison Burger. Come see us in The Short North and end your day with delicious food and drinks while sharing your adventures with us!
